[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the 16th photo I took during the Copenhagen Photo Marathon 2008.

The theme for this photo was Abstract.
I took this on the town square. It’s the lights from street lamps, traffic and buildings reflecting on the surface.
I felt like crap shooting photos 13-15 but after taking this shot I starting feeling well again after some coffee and a bite to eat.
I didn't bring a tripod so I rested the Camera on the side and on the outside edge of it's lens.

Here’s one of the things I learned. Travel light if you plan to walk around for hours and hours. I thought I had and I did use most of what I had in the bag but it got very heavy through the night.

I’ve uploaded 13th, 14th and 15th photo in the workshop.

The competition rules did not allow for any photo manipulation or PP at all. All had to be done in camera. These are straight from my G9 with only resize.

The winners of the competition have been announced and you can see the photos on www.fotomaraton.dk. The English part of the site is not up to date but click Galleri in the top and the Vinderbilleder 2008. You need to select the 1st, 2nd or 3rd price in the bottom dropdown. There were two competitions, Digital and Classic.

Fantastisk. Without your note one has to think over it. And think and think and think. Is it artificial? Biological? It takes its time to recognise the pavement (these little stones in the gorge) with its little moss. Do like the image formation and the shallow DOF in combination with the focal point set to the upper third of the composition. Colours give an idea of night, of loneliness (hey, ever played with the white balance to create certain moods?) To me, it represents in some way an unknown way to an uncertain future, the gorge leading from left to right. Would be totally different while flipping it horizontically...

Ha det bra,
H.:)
