James this is amazing it is like the town is going to be swallowed by the green light like something out a sci fi movie the colours are sharp and lighting makes a very dramatic shot tfs

Wow, great to see northern lights on TL!! I grew up on the Canadian prairies, so would see the northern lights in my growing up years. It's a fantastic thing to see ... and I know that kind of cold too!!
This is great .. great to see some stars in the sky too. Too bad though, that there's some OE on the lights of the buildings and the snow ... still a good job.

Hi James,
this is great! You've captured the glowing lights very well. Even though I have to say that the "earthly lights" are way too overexposed, I liek this picture a lot. I wouldn't know how to avoid that, anyway. great capture and thanks for sharing this mystic moment.
kindest regards, Heike
oh my god, the aliens are coming! *g* amazing capture, the green ghostlike light is fantastic. what do to against the oe at the
bottom, pp-wise no idea, shadow/highlight, maybe the use of an nd-grad filter before? i was wondering if the blue (?) spots
were stars, which would be great, or hotpixels of the sensor.
awesome job & best wishes, thor.

Hi James,
What an amazing shot! I feel so much envy that you have seen this in real life. It's beautiful.
So you lived upnorth in Greenland for 3 years? Wow... Must have been a bit cold, though. I used to live in DK too (hope the "too" won't offend anyone in Greenland!), but I've never been to Greenland.

So fantastic green sky...
Thanks for showing this wonderful green sky to us..
Greetings..
Erbil
Isn't this an amazing phenomenon??
I really have to see this for myself one day... and I will!
It has been mentioned before here: the OE in the foreground.
Inevitable if there is a lot of lights and if you have to use a longer shutterspeed.
I have tried to reduce this OE with some photosoftware, but it's very difficult to get rid of it, because in this case there is no "information" anymore in the OE parts... and as I always say: what's not there, cannot be retrieved...
Anyway, I really love the green sky!!! Cool!
Cheers,
Anneke
