[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
At the tip of Gammel Strand (literally the old beach) is a large statue called the Fiskerkonen (Fisherwoman) Statue. Beside this statue in the morning there is a fresh fish stall set out. This fisherwoman selling her fish, marinated herring and eels is the sole survivor of the fish market which was previously here along the quays. Today most of the fresh fish is transported directly from the boats to the city's fish shops and supermarkets.
This was a difficult photo to take as the stall was deeply in shade and there were also customers around who I wanted to avoid.
