[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Early morning take of two elderly fishermen at the end of a long pier on the lake of the same name in Viljandi , south central Estonia. A heavy fog was progressing across the narrow stretch of water along the low hills ,i liked the moody atmosphere and the view of these two elders-friends enjoying moments of tranquility together and the rolling fog in the BG prompted me to capture this serene scene on lens. This photo was pretty scratchy to begin having sat a long time in a box before i decided to put it out on TL , it has always been a favorite of mine from my trip to the Baltic States. Removed scratches and reduced noise after scanning the negative ,dodged and burned some parts of the picture ,applied some saturation to the greenery and row boats , sharpened and framed .

mmmm ! peaceful atmosphere with these grey-green tones. The human presence is for the soul !

Ah yes, very moody indeed Carol. So peaceful.
This shot is sooo soft throughout, and I don't mean soft focus ... I mean, the water is as smooth and calm as glass, and the whole shot is very smooth/clean. You did a good job of fixing it up if it had scratches! Beautiful soft, subtle colors too.

hi Carol

Excellent scenery with such perfect still calm water and really amazing morning beauty. You have done it so well with the composition in this one, and I agree the sky is no longer a key element when the mist is so thick but still it shows the outline of trees. Good to see the men placed nicely here.

Carol, Terrific peaceful setting. I really like the blades of grass growing in the lake. Also, the boats and reflections on the lake. I also like how there is basically one color tone throughout with the bit of green. Did you try this in black and white too? I think it would look nice. Not better, mind you, but I'm just curious. Great shot... You're really letting me see so much of the world through your photography! Lisa
