This is something I have seen on another website and wanted to try it out cause I think it´s pretty cool. I used some incense sticks (not sure if that is a generic term).
I used a studio flash and a black background.
Used hur saturation in PS to give the purple colour on the smoke. I love how it looks so soft almoust as velvet.

Hello Dennis,
Awesome presentation!
The smoke is really cool with a great organic pattern.
So fluid with great definition.
Love the highlights and the different opacities of the smoke.
The more I look, the more it has this streaming energy look to it.
Like a being moving on to the next level of existence and you captured this process.
Overactive imagination, maybe, but this is a great piece.
The purple hue is so perfect. As is the stroke for the frame.
BEAUTIFUL!

I love it, Dennis!
Emazing form of the smoke, so delicate!
Love the black bg and the frame!
Well done and thanks a lot for sharing, have a good night, Karina:)

Fantastic display of smoke, it has an almost solid look to it. The simple colour and background work very well together and the way it stretches across the screen in an almost organic way is stunning.

great shot.

Andrew

Very impressive shot with wonderful texture and very nice diagonal frame!

Hi Dennis,
wonderful work, I love it.
It's always so nice to see creative people, doing something not everybody can make a shot from, this is perfect. Thank you so much for it, I love it!

Beautifully captured, very artistic, great product!

Amazing work! It is absolutely perfect: colors, DOF, composition ... nothing to critique. :((

I like it me too! We had a few in the past here too! Here the relief is very well presented! Good catch!

Excellent effect and nice coloring!

So its pretty cool too! You get the result! Upper smoke part looks like a chain. Great composition and shot!
