Yes, this is my first digitally manipulated image. I spotted this cool coloured bug during my trip with Solkku to Kesälahti last weekend, and captured it in natural sunlight. (I have no clue what kind of bug this is)
I got a little help from the master of digitial manipulation; Solkku. I didn´t like the surrounding in the original capture so I decided to change that. I added the shadow beneath the bug. It came out like this so I hope you like it.

Comments and critiques are appreciated.

I enjoy your view! The bug is very sharp! The shadow is a good idea... But there is a setting where you can play with the distance... Like that, i have the feeling it floating over his shadow.. But it's a detail! It's a curious souvenir your bring with you!
That's cool!

Nice work, I like the colors and the sharpness of the bug :)
I think you should have changed the surrounding to a cemetery for bugs or something.. hehe.. just kidding

Very beautiful shot. Great macro in itself. I like the fact that the bug is to the right of the picture. I think the emptiness of the frame is great and the fact that the bug is suspended. Did you manipulate at all the colors of the bug?

Hola Dennis: Me gusta mcuho: el color, el brillo, el contraste, el tono azul metálico obtenido es fantástico. Una imagen sencillamente agradable y atractiva. Saludos Cordiales. *Ninfa Urania*

the image is great, the bug is ugly

overall great job :-)

Is he playing dread or is he dead. Very nice photo simple and well balanced.

I love it
You did a fantastic job, the shadow is perfect
it makes the bug look like it's suspended from the air.
excellent work

Trčs belle composition minimaliste qui met l'insecte ŕ nu
hors de son contexte naturel. Bravo!

Fantastic work also with this shadow.
Very clear and sharp, great job, Dennis ! !

Hi Denka!
This is a great photo!
How did you manage to get the white background?
Dorien!

Good job but the shadow is too bright, wich give the impression that your bug float in the air. The shadow has to be darker and sharper as it is next to the body ;)
Also, your insect in blue make me believe that it is frozen, isn't it ?
