[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was searching through my folders and found this old macro cactus shot and used a little PS on it and it came out like this. Hope you like it.

very nice indeed, i like the way you have Ps'd the pic, and the sharpness of the cactus is excellent...well done...martha

I have absolutely no idea why this has only 2 points after being online for a day. It's fantastic: very nice DOF and creatively composed.
Annelies

I have an "Animal Spirit Captured" theme, and if this was an animal, the pic would definitely be there. :) Since a "Cactus Spirit Captured" theme title would kind of sound dumb, I'm stuck with a two-point greenie. :)

The very shallow depth of field in combination with great sharpness on just a couple of spike tips is what really makes this shot beautiful and unique. The only thing I would have removed (not by PP but from the cactus itself) is the few filaments from your sweater. ;)

Very good frame, but the type you have chosen is too jazzy (actually, too Art-Nouveau-ish) for the fantastic simplicity of the cactus. It should be a cleaner, simpler type. Next time. :)

By the way, the proportions are perfect. Annalies is right, this should have scored a lot more.
