Simple and very effective. The contrast of the orange of the flame against the blues of the background works well. Nice photo!

Hi Jarkko,

Well taken of course and well done on the composition.

I have mixed feelings about the composition. The main subject is the lantern, the secondary is the lake. However, my eye distracted with the shadow/tree. It gives an impression or is fighting for attention. I see this image the way it is but without the tree, so, we have the lamp and the lake same composition without the tree. I also see another composition where the cropping would end at the tree, which becomes a vertical. Like I said, it's a mixed feeling of compositions.
Bottom line is, I like it anyway. ;) :)

Very well composed shot, the blurred background fits perfectly. Imparts wonderful mood...makes me think of camping and cool summer nights! Thanks for sharing!

Maybe we're all moths at heart ... drawn to that flame and the shine of the lamp. Beautifully sharp and beautifully coloured, this shot - and composition is perfect: the position of the lamp to the left, the tree to the right, the horizon in the top 1/3rd of the photo ... superb work.
