from series: figures from Tammisaari

Tammisaari, (EkenĂs in Swedish language) is a beautiful little town on the south coast of Finland, approx. 100 km west of Helsinki. It is located in the province of Southern Finland and is part of the Uusimaa region. A colourful accumulation of wooden houses, built wall to wall along narrow lanes surrounds the small harbour. A typical, peaceful rural Finnish landscape with its forests surrounds Tammisaari. It is no less than the original enticing nordic village The municipality is bilingual, with majority being Swedish and minority Finnish speakers. I was there before Christmas on the Christmas market ;)
