[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This woman is resting, reading the paper and eating her lunch at the same time. She has her back against a fountain with water pouring down into a stone cistern. Since the sun is almost above, the woman?s face is in shade. I took the picture from the back and used her back as the background for the water. There is not much color in it so I turned it into B&W. This was taken in Helsinki, Finland. The group of people you see in the foreground is the ?walking tour group? about to leave me behind again because I keep on stopping and taking pictures.

Andre,

This is a pretty good B/W, but a few problems i see. she is sitting right in the middle of the frame. I would try cropping out so she is to one side. I also find the water spout is distracting. The problem is you have two subject matters - the woman and the spout - competing for attention because they are spacially right on top of each other. lastly because of overexposure or post processing, the midground bricks where the sun strikes is really washed out. try fixing it with curves or shadow/highlight in CS or next time try underexposing a few stops.
