Helsinki harbor at dusk

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
When we visited Helsinki, our visit coincided with a festival of tall ships. Unfortunately the festival was the day we planned our day trip across the Gulf of Finland to Tallinn, Estonia, so we missed the festivities! Fortunately, the ships started arriving the day before, so after our ferry trip to and from the island fortress of Suomenlinna, we returned and found the harbor was filling up wqith beautiful sailing ships.
I took several photos of the ships from a conventional angle, but for this one I wanted the ship coming out of the frame, contrasting against the moody clouds just barely lit at dusk. |

Christian,
This classic POV always works for ships. No question the color contrast did wonders for the photo.
It paid out the effort to come back to the harbour late night.
Cheers,
Wellington

Hi Christian,
this is very impressive. First due to the great lowlight management and secondly, the POV.
Excellent foreshortening !
Best regards, Daniel
