Hi Laurence,
Althought apetizing, an a fair composition, this picture shows some flaws which with a few technical change could be greatly improve.

Your choice of aperture will give you depth of field, and 2.8 is diffinitly unsufficient here.

Being a still life, longer shutter speed is not really a problem.

A greater aperture would have bring texture to this shot, which it's lacking...the image being to soft.

I would recommend a setting of f/8 at 1/8 of a second, would have made all the difference.

For this type of shot...try different setting and use a tripod for slow speed shot.

It's also slightly over exposed.

Colour balance is a bit too blue.
