| This is the statue of Jeanne D'Arc in Orleans, Place de Martrois. Jeanne D'Arc is the national heroine of France and a saint of the Catholic Church. Her commemoration is on the 8th of May, when the whole town of Orleans is celebrating. The legend (or history) says, that she had visions from God which led her to King Charles VII and inspired the French troops in their fight against the English. |

Interesting shot - a good angle on the statue. Unfortunately the lighting here is working against you - in areas where I'd want to see detail (such as the face) the shadows are too dark. Might be worth taking this shot again at a different time of day to try to capture the image in a different light?
