[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took the picture of this lonely tree in an orchard not far from the village called Preuschdorf, in the heart of Alsace. It was foggy and very wet, and rain was threatening to fall at each moment.

This tree was not so lonely, in fact it was surrounded by a dozen of other trees and together thay made a beautiful orchard, but pictures with lonely trees have more visual impact (I think) so I wanted to have only this single tree on my shot.

I also wanted to show some of the hills in the background, as these are very typical of the region where I live.

The heavy sky gave a beauiful dramatic atmosphere to the picture, and I wanted to emphasize this by turning the photo in B/W. I'm quite satisfied with the result, and I hope you'll like it too !

I think you live in a really beautiful region.

J'ai une fascination pour les arbres esseulés, comme en font foi certaines de mes photos. Beaucoupd d'atmosphère dans cette photo, les qualités tonales sont très bonnes!

I do like it, I think it look real lonely all right! :( but the photo you took look great, nice composition and good colours choice. I will give it a stronger contrast, but that's just me. :)

Une photo que j'aime beaucoup, pour sa composition adaptée au sujet, mais surtout pour l'ambiance qui en ressort. Cet arbre en ombre chinoise sous ce ciel menaçant.
Avec un traitement NB tout à fait le bienvenue !

But I would've pushed the tree further to left to give more space to the right.
But then, this is already a good shot as it is!:-)
