The oud has its cradle in Babylon, around 600 AD, such as found on a bas-relief of the temple of Hammurabi by Iraqi researcher Anwar Rachidi.1 Present among the Assyrians, it is in Egypt where it is found in the tomb of Ahmose (1500 BC).. During the first civilization pharaonienne, the Egyptians used the lute for their ceremonies and festivals.

I love this JeanPaul. I just recently saw this instrument being played in a concert that I attended. Fantastic sound!
Great DOF .. love the focus on the man's left hand and the tuning pegs of the instrument.
