Good morning Hansie

Lovely shot here, very pretty place and a nice balaned POV,lovely colours and lots going on. I am not sure if the contrast is just a tad low here.. or maybe that could be just my personal opinion. I would imagine this image could make a superb jigsaw puzzle .

so good pov for this view of Place Stanislas.. u have take all the atmosfere of the saturday morning.. spring is in the air here!! walking scene.. so nice!! colours and details are excellent!!

Mooie foto van dit stukje Nancy. Goede beeld vuling.

Helaas moet ik bij 'Nancy' steeds weer terugdenken aan de Franse politie. Ik en een andere Nederlander moeten een politie auto volgen tot in een 'landelijk' gebied. Daar moesten we in een vervallen 'politie' bureau, gelijk afrekenen voor een snelheids overtreding. Nog steeds het idee dat ze zelf hun zakken vulden.

This is a nice shot but In My Opinion it does not look quite right, I agree with Helen re the Contrast but it seems not to have your normal sharpness, I have done a Workshop for you, I hop you like it.

A great shot Hans!
Very well composed,an excellent POV, lovely detail and very interesting action. My own instinct would have been to try and adjust the contrast a little more during the PP work, but perhaps that's just me!

Hans, I don't know about this one. The compo is good, the action you captured on that square is nice to look at, sure...

But, as you know I tend to speak my mind, and I don't think the tech part of the shot is good. My first impression was "there's something wrong here" but I couldn't pinpoint right away what it was... but it's simple: this picture lacks light. I mean, look at the people, look at the buildings: they don't seem to reflect any light.
Now, in general I like some underexposure. But trop is teveel and teveel is too much ;o). Seriously, I think this picture is "dof" to say it in Dutch.
As I try to practice what I preach I made a quick ws for you, please look at it and give me your honest opinion. I think comparison works best if you save the ws to disk, and swap them over and over in Windows's image preview.

Also, I wonder why you add the frame and the text before downsizing. If you do that after downsizing and the final sharpening, you'd have more control about it, and I mean the text... in general, text doesn't need sharpening. Depending on the software and on the font you use, text can suffer badly from sharpening. Is there any reason why you do this before the downsizing?

Hans, als je me een zeurpiet vindt, zeg dat gewoon hoor. Maar voor mij werkt dit niet zoals je het presenteert, en als ik dan alle crits lees dan begin ik echt te twijfelen... niet aan mezelf, maar aan TL als "waardemeter" - en dan bedoel ik niet de punten maar wat de mensen schrijven...

Some good looking architecture there Hans. Very attractive. And the people strolling along the street certainly show off a lovely atmosphere - it looks like a stage, as if you've posed them.
You seem to have gone a bit flat on the levels or as I see some say contrast - and I can agree with them - We can all learn more

Are you ever at home Hans? Man I have the idea that you live out of the shoebox!
Again an interesting picture. There is a lot to see there in Nancy.
On the picture the groups of people are very nice devided over the street all heading there own direction. The rigid scenery makes a nice contrast.
My remark that your camera should be able to shoot high quality without using your PS-shoebox! Better to shoot some more with different adjustment. You lost a bit of the right color of the sky and contrast.

You have given yourself a very difficult task here Hans... Photographing such symmetrical shapes is quite difficult indeed... well.. not the photography, but keeping things straight and in proportions.
All in all I thin you have done a great job here.

I do think there is something a little strange here. Is it the "misty" look or the colors..??
I don't know.

Hans, je hebt indertijd meer last gehad van een "waas" over je foto's. Is dit er eentje uit dezelfde serie misschien?? Ik kan niet bedenken waar het nou precies aan ligt.
Misschien is het wel gewoon de lucht geweest of "iets" in de atmosfeer... Ik denk, dat je hier ook weer hetzelfde probleem hebt als toen.

Mooie plaat Hans goed in balans en scherp geeft een heerlijk zondagmiddaggevoel, alleen hangt er een blauwe waas over weet niet of dat de bedoeling was maar ik heb een WS gemaakt.

That's a very nice presentation of Place Stanislas in Nancy. You present a beatiful point of view and a good compositionLighting is awsome and the colors are smooth. I love this place. It was restores lately and all the gold has been done. Cars are now forbidden, making the "terrasses" more charming.

Hello Hans, at first my thoughts were like Helen's that the contrast or saturation was a little low, but on second look I think the sharpness you achieved with the way you have it hi-lights the people more. I like it! :} Don

Mooi resultaat zeg ! Het geeft een typisch beeld zo, na al die bewerkingen. Net alsof die mensen er los in staan .... heel mooi dus. Mooie kleuren, POV en verder technisch weer zeer sterk.
