[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
As I promised yesterday, I continue my commemorating series of the events in Normandy 65 years ago. This is 'Gold Beach', where Canadian, British and American soldiers reached the land to establish a bridgehead to Occupied Europe. The village down there is Arromanches-sur-Mer, where a big museum and a number of stand for (mostly the Canadian) soldiers.

Hi Kristof,
Very nice shot, the curving island leads our eyes nicely. Great rule of thirds, the tones look very natural and the people below put everything into perspective.

TFS,
Scott.

An impressive landscape Kristof. I do like the curve from the impressive cliff. A wholesome image of Normandy. Regards...

Hi Kristof,
This is a well known area for french Canadians! They are numerous to have battled there! Many are dead on these beaches! I was astounded when I visited the place few years ago, to see and hear french people to thank us, after more of fifty passed years, for the freedom got back.
Beautiful panoramic view of the coast.
The colors are so real that I could open my door and to be there just by the power of this image!
Bravo! Annie

Hi Kristof,
A super capture with a super POV.
The composition is great, as are the colors. The presentation as a postcard is not really to my taste, but in total it is an impressive job.
TFS.

Hello Kristof,
at the sight of the photo the language remains away, which one is to then say much, it is overwhelming, Good work with good success. The composition is excellent one.

Looks a deightful place to spend a summer afternoon. Nice composition and colours. You also have a nice and straight horizon which I feel may have been a bit of a challenge? Good job

Hi Kristof,

As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. All technical aspects of the shot are great, but the POV is what drives this.

TFS,
Werner

Hi Kristof

Another superb D Day commemoration scene. Hard to believe that this peaceful scene was the same site of so much fighting & bloodshed in WWII. Good colour, framing & sharpness. Tfs!

Ciao Kristof, wonderful sea view with fantastic clifs, great light and colors, beautiful composition, very well done, ciao Silvio

Ciao Kristof

Beautiful look of this stone point.
He reminds me a similar one in called Peru of
Cathedrali, only that very arid, without some vegetation
green, only sand and stones, more of beautiful vision for
the sea, as this that you present.
Strong colours and good clarity,
Beautiful, in the colors and in the angle
Greetings

Sérgio
