Directly at Omaha Beach. The most famous American WWII cemetery in France (Colleville-sur-Mer, Normandy).

Colleville-sur-Mer is a commune in the Calvados département in the Basse-Normandie region of France. Population: 174.
The beach next to the coastal village was one of the principal beachheads during the Normandy landings on June 6, 1944, designated Omaha beach.
The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial is a World War II cemetery and memorial in Colleville-sur-Mer, Normandy, France, that honors American soldiers who died in Europe during World War II.
The cemetery is located on a cliff overlooking Omaha Beach (one of the landing beaches of the Normandy Invasion) and the English Channel. It covers 70 ha (172 acres), and contains the remains of 9,387 American military dead, most of whom were killed during the invasion of Normandy and ensuing military operations in World War II. The graves face westward, towards the United States.

Hi Kristof
An extremely sad lieu where so many gave their lives because of a madman. Its well composed giving us a good view of the beauty of the place that turned to a blood bath or should I say a carnage on june 6th. A very nice tribute for the veterans. Well done.

I can only imagine the feeling on this beach! I think you have pulled off great emotion from your POV to the weather that day!

Wonderful capture and tribute to those who died so we might be free.

Reminds me of the lyrics of the Neil Young song, "Cost Of Freedom."
