Hello, Jean Pierre -
A beautifully composed image with great use of the narrow DOF, focusing on the knot. The boat in the background is nicely blurred but the colors can still be seen. Nice exposure and the details of the sharper portion of the rope are well shown. Good vision to conceive of this approach.

I do not have anything to add to the critiques below accept that i really like the picture. I think it is gorgeous and belongs in a calendar or book about about harbours.

This is a great expressive photo in my opinion. I'm just learning photography, but I like the image that you deliberately reflected here. I have a question: why did you use such a high speed shutter for this shot? Was that intended? I'm just trying to learn.
