[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
Part a few days in Normandy, gray time, the wind didn't allow me much to make photographs, except this monday there, where I could walk me along the beach of Etretat, so famous for the particulirity of its cliff and its "needle" which you will be able to see in the workshop.

The seagulls are everywhere in the city, not very savage, one can approach them if one advances gently, they forget our present quickly, for little that they are in the search of foods.
All is good for the seagull which is omnivorous. Dustbins of the restaurants, a bread end which trails on the road. There are above all, of the necrophagous ones.

Apart from the season of nesting, one can meet it a little everywhere with a preference for the coastal zones close to the large parts of water and not too herring Gull far away from the discharges of refuse. Like all the seagulls, the eggs and let us oisillons them other species enter for a considerable share its diet.

To distinguish them from the simple gulls of which they are connected, their head, the chest, the belly and the tail are white. The back and the wings are gray clear contrasting with the black remiges (large feathers of the wings which make it possible the birds to fly). The black end of the wings is marked of some white spots. The yellow nozzle has a small red spot on the lower mandible.

To finish some with our bird, two anecdotes: it is hardly appreciated sailors who lend stories of curse to them, seagulls attacking of the sailors fallen to water and bursting the eyes to them. They are carrying the sign of death. Many supertitions turn around our bird. More veracious, if one sees many seagulls with ground, that announces a storm.

The ethymology of its name comes from Breton the gouélan, "to cry", allusion to the cry of the bird.

Bonjour Corinne

Salutations,
Dany ;-)

Bonjour mon ami Cokky :-)
Excellent portrait of these two gulls, they must be in love I can see it at the glance in their eyes ;-) Nice clear colours particular their beaks. The frame is magnificent too (do you create them your self?)In short a fine posting.
Big hug from the Baron :-)
