During my quick trip to Haute-normandy, I have been able to make only two shots. I absolutely wanted to have those flowers flax at the beginning of their flowering. Here is one. There were a lot of wind and light if its flowers by their swaying have delivered their delicate beauty with a little difficult but the result was worth it.

*********************************************************

The flax cultivation requires a temperate climate and wet, which explains why it's mainly grown in France in particular in Normandy (61%), in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais (20%) and Picardie (12%). France is the 1st producing country in the world for its quality, and the 3rd to production areas sown behind Russia and China.

The flax is a plant dicotylédone of the family linacées, linum usitatissimmum species. The plant, which is annual, has a single stem of about 1 meter high and which fall 80 to 100 sheets without the stem. It wasn't until 6 to 7 years between each culture flax on the same field in order to avoid fatigue of the earth.

Flax has a duration of vegetation 100 days! The blue or white flowers open in the morning and not remain in bloom for only a few hours. The flower gives a capsule 5 lobes each containing 2 seeds. About 30 days after the onset of flowering, flax is ripe.
Flax loses its flowers and becomes straw-yellow.

Bonjour Corinne,
Comment vas-tu?

Amicalement.

Pascalie.

Bonjour Cocky,
Excellent capture of this "difficult" white flower. You did well to prevent these white flowers from burning out the white (over exposure) you almost managed it but a larger f-stop (f/8) would have been better in my opinion. Nevertheless a great posting.
Bisous ton amie!
Hans

Fabulous details in this capture! and you have handled the whites superbly!
I think I might have been inclined to sacrifice a little speed in favour of greater depth of focus, unless there were strong breezes (which I cannot tell of course)
Great posting, lovely framing

Bonjour Corinne,

Hi
Beautiful shot with great colour. Really great background!
Good work!
Anna

Hi Corinne,
The white flax is presented and artistically composed. I love the mass of flowers, there is good appropriate focus infront and the blurring on the back is effective. Best regards, Danilo

Hello Corinne!
Lovely and delicate your composition!
Wonderful colours and light!
Best regards!
Lili

Hi Corinne,

What a lovely presentation! . .
I can imagine how difficult capturing these flowers which always sway . .
But it's beautifully composed . .
Congratulation with the new home . .

Love from far away country, Indonesia

Tjutjut

Many thanks for your kind words on 200 .

Bonjour Corinne,

Excellente note instructive.
Bravo
serge
