Rouen Cathedral a different POV

Another view on the towers of the Cathedral of Rouen (France). Large trees are in front of this imposing building and I tried to get both into the view. Well not an unique shot, but I like the color contrast very much. Not much to tell today regarding this photo. Hopefully you enjoy it.

Rouen Cathedral

Rouen Cathedral (French: Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen) is a Gothic cathedral in Rouen, in northwestern France. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Rouen.
Features
Rouen Cathedral contains a tomb of Richard the Lionheart which contains his heart. His bowels were buried within the church of the Chateau of Châlus-Chabrol in the L. It was from the walls of the Chateau of Châlus-Chabrol that the crossbow bolt was fired, which led to his death once the wound became septic. His corporal remains were buried next to his father at Fontevraud Abbey near Chinon and Saumur, France. Richard's effigy is on top of the tomb, and his name is inscribed in Latin on the side.
Rouen Cathedral was the tallest building in the world (151 m) from 1876 to 1880.
The cathedral was bombed in 1944, taking several direct hits that narrowly missed destroying key pillars.

In Art

The Rouen Cathedral was the subject for a series of paintings by the Impressionist painter Claude Monet who painted the same scene at different times of the day.Two paintings are National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.,one is in National Museum of Serbia in Belgrade.Estimated value of one painting is 40 million $.
Gustave Flaubert was inspired by the stained glass windows of St. Julian and of Salome, basing two of his Three Tales on them.
Joris-Karl Huysmans wrote La Cathédrale about the Cathedral, a novel based on an intensive examination of the building. (Text: Wikipedia.com)

Hola amigo,
precioso trabajo,
excelente vista arquitectura magnífica...
bello pov, detalles y presentación,
saludos

Lovely blues in the sky and the stonework is realistic and not overexposed...sometimes, for me anyway, to get a good balance between light stone and deep blue sky. So good job!

The bush/tree thing at the bottom makes a nice natural frame. Nice image, Big Fella!

The detail on this cathedral is incredible! I know those pieces are heavy and it's amazing how they carefully adorned each peak with this stuff! nice notes Hans! I like the two torquoise towers on the right!

Bonjour Hans :o)
Superbe !
Amicalement

I just love old buildings and churches, especially when they have so many towers and ornaments like this cathedral has.
I think this capture is wonderful Hans. great contrasting colors all in all.

Hi Hans,
Good lighting and lots of details !!
Very good compo with the trees in the foreground. The border is a bit too big to my taste. ;-)
