Environnée de ruisseaux et proche d'une réserve ornithologique, l'abbaye de Royaumont a été édifiée au XIII° siècle par Saint Louis.
Implantée dans un environnement protégé, l'abbaye se dresse encore aujourd'hui au milieu des étangs et des forêts. Son cloître et son réfectoire (restauré en 2004) sont parmi les plus remarquables à ce jour.
