I visited the castle of Eu(*) in the Somme.
The woodwork remained impeccable, and these switches have attracted my attention : new builders have to behave themselves as to the quality of their existing materials ;-)
Little wink at the time that we have not known.
(*)Castle Museum In Louis-Philippe is classified Museum of France. The present building was begun in 1578 and ended in 1665.
The castle underwent between 1872 and 1886 a period of major work under the direction of renowned architect Eugene Viollet-le-Duc.
In 1905, the building was acquired by the former imperial family of Brazil, the princes of Orleans-Braganza.
In 1964, after many wanderings, the town of Eu acquired the castle.
In 1973, the municipality will install its mayor and the Museum Louis-Philippe is created. |
