At the foot of the "Falize" (a cliff about 25m high) water springs from the earth in a multitude of ground level springs and they are coloured blue. This natural curiosity is due to "refraction and selective chromatic absorption phenomena"

Here is the largest spring called "l'Abyme"(the Abyss) and is 5,5m deep. Its average diameter is 6m and it holds over 160 m3 of water.

Tradition tell us that a long time ago a carriage pulled by six horses that had bolted fell into "l'Abyme" with all its passengers. It was never found.

Bonjour Armel,
Je n'avais jamais entendu parler de ce phénomène.
C'est vrai que l'eau est d'un bleu incroyable... au milieu de la fôret cela paraît incroyable.
Merci pour cette note, j'aurai appris qqchose aujourd'hui ;o)

De très jolies couleurs et surtout une information passionnante merci de nous offrir cette culture... à bientôt

J'ai vu un reportage à Découverte sur de tres grandes nappes d'eau souteraines qui émanent de trou comme ça. On ne pourra pas vraiment explorer la grandeur et la complexité de ce monde innondé mais à la sortie ça ressemblait à ça... Lumière bleutée en moins. J'en visualise le phénomène. Ça ressemble un peu aux ajustements de Photoshop et aux lois qui valent en photo comme en decomposition lumineuse... Absortion, reflection... Ho ça se corse!

Passons donc à cette forme ronde de marmitu une cuve! On aurait le goût d'y plonger mais c'est peut-être très froid?
On s'ymaigne un temps de pluies plus fortes le roc crayeu est effritable apres tout... La formation de cette cuve.. C'est fascinant!
