To repaint it every 7 years, one needs 50 tons of painting! Work of painting is made by a team of 25 painters and lasts one year!

To light it the evening one uses 352 projectors of 1.000 Watts each one.

A little history:

- In 1889, an American ambassador came to visit the Eiffel Tower equipped in cow servant boy with long hair, it was called: Buffalo Bill!

- Did you know how the Parisian ones adjusted their watch between 1900 and 1914? And well, in top of the Eiffel Tower, there was a gun and all days, at midday exactly, one fired the gun and thus everyone was per hour!!! Amusing, not?

- It was even sold!! And yes, a swindler, Victor Lustig had explained to a scrap merchant that the Eiffel Tower was going to be demolished and that it could recover iron. It had manufactured forged identity paperss of the Town of Paris and the poor naive scrap merchant had bought the tower, finally it had believed it!

And of the records, it still saw not badly this Eiffel Tower of it:

In 1934, one had installed on it the largest thermometer of the world, a 160 meters height giant thermometer!

In 1938, the King of England George V and the Queen Elizabeth came to Paris and to accomodate them, one hung to the Eiffel Tower an English flag which were 40 meters long and 30 meters broad and only weighed with him... 120 kilos.

to finish with his anecdotes, in 1969, one installed a skating rink there!!! and the first to have tested it it was a bear of the circus of Moscow which one had made assemble there high

*******************************************************

Started from Niort, my Virginia daughter and me, went to Paris so that it attends the concert of group MUSE with her brother who joined us over there. Me, I had five hours to await them and to walk me as a tourist with my camera in Paris, of course I could not not missed the traditional Eiffel Tower into night, some will say that I made in the very traditional one, it to me is true but how want you to lead especially in Paris and to find a parking space in if little time when you have some concern with your health (I will acknowledge it good once for all, because I know that now you regard me as a photographer like the others but I suffer from multiple sclerosis and if I walk well still, I don't run any more it a service, continue to regard me as before this declaration, I like the life, so unquestionable that its disease will not have the last word, I am too talkative lolll and one does not speak about it any more)

But these 5 hours enabled me to discover a small charming place in edge of the Seine, the gardens of the Palate of Tokio, where I enjoyed my first raspberry of the year offered by a very nice Japanese woman, I you would speak again about it and would show you the stereotypes of this pleasant place.

I spent a beautiful even short day and I brought back in the night my two children to Niort where Sunday was one day to sleep deserved well

Thank you for your congratulations for the passage for the 200 photographs on TL, I kiss you.

Bonjour Corinne
Une très jolie vue nocturne de la tour Eiffel parée de son habit de lumière. Elle se détache parfaitement bien sur ce ciel lourd et les reflets dans l'eau sont du plus belle effet. Un grand bravo.
Merci de partager...
Amicalement

Such a photogenic structure as this deserves that such a good photograph as this be taken of it. The colour and light is magnificent. I'm impressed by the sky, it seems to add some drama to the image.

bonjour Corinne
jolie prise bien nette, bravo

Bonjour Corinne,

Hi Corinne,

This is such a wonderful picture of the tower. It is truly a fascinating piece of engineering and your image does it justice.

The colours and lighting are superb for the feeling you want to portray and the POV and compo are spot-on.

D'abord merci pour ton commentaire sur mon écureuil.
Ensuite, félicitations pour cette photo de la grande dame. Elle est très réussie. Le jaune de son éclairage ressort très bien sur le fond sombre du ciel.
