The pond of Biguglia .
The pond is dominated by the village of Furiani and is with the doors of Bastia. A general sight in WS.
Assembly of 4 sights.
The POND of Biguglia, formerly pond of Chiurlinu, is largest of the island: 1 450 hectares, 11 kilometers length, and a width which reaches with its maximum 2,5 kilometers. Four species of birds hivement in abundance on the water level (foulque macroule, fuligule morillon, fuligule milouinan and large cormorant). the avifauna regularly observed on the pond makes state of more than 120 species of birds, including 19 nicheuses species, 68 estivantes and 53 wintering artisanal fishings based on the use of the migratory characteristics of fish and natural stocking with fish starting from the sea. Eels, mullets, wolves and atherines make the essence of the production, the first accounting for 65% of the captures. the natural Reserve of Biguglia is characterized by an astonishing floristic richness. Two terms are essential. "Variety" but especially, "Scarcity": it arises from the botanical inventory that, about thirty species are rare or very rare, whose some deserve a detailed attention (Kosteletzkya pentacarpos, Thelypteris palustris, Sagittaria sagittifolia and Tamarix africana).
