Red as a lobster

Strolling over the market in the old city of Nice I saw this lobster on a bed of ice. He looked really sad at me, so decided not to eat him but to make a portrait of this delicious fella.

PP work: shot in RAW, slight adjustment of brightness and contrast. Cropped, resized and sharpened and finally add a frame.

Hi Hans,
Impressively clear shot, the lighting looks well balanced. The focus is a little soft on one of his claws, but the face/body looks in full focus which is all that really matters. Good idea with the crop and frame - Looks tasty :).

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Hans

I try to tell European vacationers in Thailand & Australia, not to fall asleep in the sun, or they will wake up looking like this, but few of them ever listen to me. Good sharpness & light contrasts, with effective tight framing, & impeccable use of a shallow dof. Tfs, & have a great week!

Hans,
Wonderful capture, lovely colors, great sharpness.

Hi Hans,
I tried many times to photography a lobster, but I have never did it so nicely!
Excellent close-uo! Very natural colors with a sharp clarity and rendering of textures! Monsters can turn out also a true feast for the eyes and palate!

groetjes, Marga

Hello Hans,
Excellent macro with really strong colors and good sharpness. It's a good idea to take photo prior eating it.
Here is 11:30 am and after looking at this beautiful lobster I am ready to have my lunch.
Have a nice week-end.

Best regards,
Alex

Hi Hans, Very sharp close-up of this large-looking sea creature. Very realistic colours. Shows how effective a close crop can be. TFS. Murray.

I guess your focus ,was its main body Hans,& boy did you get all the details with clarity & sharpness & the color is so vibrant. When I had my first taste of lobster, yes it was delicious & still is,or was it the garlic butter:) I questioned what made someone want to eat it, that first time ever, so that we could enjoy it later,I mean it certainly doen't look like something you would want to eat .now does it?
Cheers

Ron
