La plupart des rivages méditerranéens apparaissent aujourd'hui très profondément modifiés, souvent même bouleversés, victimes d'agressions qui ne remontent parfois pas très loin dans le temps. Fort heureusement ce n'est pas le cas pour les calanques de Piana qui demeurent l'un des plus beaux sites de Corse, classé d'intérêt mondial par l'UNESCO.
