[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all,
Right, I am finally posting this, which, as mentioned previously, is supposed to go in contrast with post . I guess the mood created by the photos and their titles are pretty self explanatory.

PP- This is the full frame so just the usual levels, USM and framing.

Hope you like it,
Jako

Very good POV on this shot, Jako! And the tonal range is superb. I would have cloned out the contrail above the canon, too distracting. Nice presentation too!

Hi Jako,
you captured very well the meaning with vibrant b/w tones and great sharpness. It is so well done!
Love the tight framing.
Good curve made by the barbed wire and enough space all around the machine gun.

Very contextual with what the world is living those days in many places in the Middle-East.

Also the sky and the clouds are great.
Hope you get lots of critiques.

Great work! Yan :)

p.s.: Many thx for your review on "Beach Grass at Dusk". It's greatly appreciated.

Very good composition Jako, the B&W is a plus here. Very well done, thanks.

It's a choque seeing all of this when you visit those places, I find, even after all these years. Very strong image, bautifully done. Too bad about the airplane trail, but nothing you could do about that (except spending a long time cloning).

Hello Jako,
Very good shot.
And like the title states, Truly " A Harsh Reality'
Goed gedoen
Groete,
Ben

great shot, i don't think that go in contrast with your flag's post; Flags and border are really associated to wars. No Flags, no wars... i'm sure about that!
Your B/W is wonderful.
TFS,

Armel.

I like the contrast. Very pleasing.
Its hard to make war art..you have done well.

I like this alot Jako. Very simple, graphic image with great symbolism attached. the BW is a good choice. I find that con-trail in the sky a little distracting though.

Hi Jako,

I'm studying WWI right now, and now I finally have something to say about this photo! I don't know about other people but all the details about WWI make me sick and confused... I mean in your image you have the barb-wire, which was found inbetween the trenches... 'no mans land' and all the guns just killing men without care... it's ridiculous. And then! The Triple Entente and The Triple Alliance, these were formed to stop war... but it (basically) another cause for it. So this is why I think your title is perfect... 'harsh reality' is that people will never be at peace... which is sad when you look at the link you posted. Canada and the US are 2 (out of 3) of the worst contributors of greenhouse gases!! I'm ranting.

Wonderful composition, it's really dramatic with the overlapping layers of wire. The weapon is hidden behind the wires... and the B&W just tops of that cold reality of why we have these ridiculous items. And I really, really like the framing, it's perfect. :) Enjoy your Sunday.

Biance.
