[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
Today for France, the second turn of the presidential election will take place. We have each one our convictions, some which they are, don't forget to go to vote, it's a right, a duty because we are likely to live in a democracy and it is a privilege in the world.
I chose to take in photography, the small place where my polling station is, then I took into photo my registration card (one can read all that I said before on the voting rights) and a PP work, I routed my chart to place it on the photograph of the place, to remove fences and their shades, to also withdraw an electric post in the content of the image with the tool of “cloning”. To add a framing. (I puts in the workshop the originals)

The revolutionary movement which bursts in February 1848 puts an end to Monarchy July and institutes the Second Republic. The male vote for all is then adopted by the decree of March 5, 1848 and will not be called any more into question. All the 21 years old are entitled to vote French and enjoying their civil laws and political. The right to be elected is granted to any voter of more than 25 years. The vote becomes secret.

*******************************************************

1944: voting rights of the women and vote for all. The ordinance of April 21, 1944 gives to the women of more than 21 years the voting rights and thus returns the right of really universal vote. The women vote for the first time at the local elections of March 1945. For a long time the voting rights had been refused to the women because of arguments misogynists: the women would be made to be mothers and good wives, which would not be compatible with the exercise of the voting rights or of a political mandate. In addition, certain politicians feared the influence which the Church could have had on the vote of the women. The First World War and the appearance of the suffragettes gradually made evolve/move the debate.

*******************************************************

voting rights to 18 years The president of the Republic Valéry Giscard-d' Estaing lowers by the law of July 5, 1974 the age of obtaining the voting rights to 18 years instead of 21 years.

*******************************************************

The abstention consists in not taking part in an election or operations of referendum. It translates either a total disinterest for the public life, or a consistent active political choice not to decide in order to show its dissension. Nevertheless, the abstention seems to translate a crisis of the representation and can raise the question of the legitimacy of the political power elected with a weak participation.

*******************************************************

Then today have voted, that there is a as strong rate of participation as in the first turn (rate of participation (83,77%), “most extremely for 30 years”.) Some is your decision, for which you will vote or vote white, it is necessary to go there bus if not your voice will not have gotten along. It is a gesture citizen The royal way so that the democracy lives, all depends on us, the people.
