[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
It's a plant of the family of renonculacées. She is originating in Asia and North Africa. One finds some in a wild state in the South of France.
The Nigella of Damas is also more rarely called "Venus hairs" in connection with its very fine foliage.
She open out generally in May and June. Of color white, pink, blue or purple, the pollinated flowers give capsules filled with small black seeds. These capsules with the reddish reflections are often used in dry bouquets.

It's cultivated like plants annual.
Its height avoisinne forty centimetres.
One often plants it in clump.
The seeds are toxic by ingestion.

Nigella - Black Cumin:
With the Middle Ages, Nigella (of Latin Niger, black) was regarded as a medicinal plant. This seed is rich in proteins and rock salt (calcium, sodium and potassium...). It's originating in the Middle-east and India where it pushes in a wild state. In India, Nigella enters the composition of various mixtures of spices with which one powders the Indian breads: naans. (it's the true, Vandana ?)
Nigella (or black cumin) is a plant very appraisal for its seeds with strong, prickly and peppered savour. It can replace pepper besides. Nigella blending very well with vegetables and yoghourts. To release some from beautiful scented notes, to make roast seeds of Nigella then to grind them finely.

For work with software, use of Paint shop Pro X, I made my adjustments of lighting, the colors and of clearness then with the magnetic lasso,
I routed the flower of Nigella and some "leaves", I had chosen at the beginning for a black background but I tested on white and I found that the result was more attractive, giving an aspect of drawing almost.

I puts the original photograph in the workshop. With you to judge.
