I'm sorry for our "Green Baron" but I found only one replica of the plane of the famous "RedBaron" who made with the meeting of Niort. Though I could see on a photograph of archives which its plane had the partly green fuselage.

Biographie >> Manfred von Richthofen - the RedBaron

Manfred von Richthofen was born in 1892 in Breslau. It's originating in a family of country nobility. With the 11 years age her parents register it at the military academy.
Manfred is a daredevil dice childhood. One day, it climbs with the bell-tower of the church of Wahlstadt and hangs its handkerchief with the lightning conductor. No one will never dare to go to remove it... It continues then its studies with the Military academy of Lichterfelde. Intrepid rider, it joined the cavalry as an officer with the 1st regiment of Uhlans when the war bursts in August 1914. After having fought during eight days the Cossacks, it is dispatched in the West.

When the war of the trenches begins in Verdun, it's relegated to the intendance and spends its time to... shoot wild boar. It finds obviously this existence unworthy of a soldier. It writes to its superior then: "Dear Excellence, I did not go to the war to gather eggs and cheeses!".

It, indeed, is transferred in aviation, its dearer desire. It initially serves like observer in the sky of Russia then of Belgium with the flotilla "the Carrier pigeons". With Lieutenant Georg Zeumer as pilot, Manfred delivers its first aerial combat on September 1, 1915. It's a null match. Upset, it leaves the Belgian dimension for the face of Champagne, where the battle makes rage and meets with the restaurant car its hero Lieutenant Oswald Boelcke, which already cut down four planes.

In September, at the time of its second combat, always as a machine gunner, it cuts down Farman but this one is crushed behind the lines Alliées and this first victory willn't be counted in Richthofen. Its mentor, Georg Zeumer him council then to fly of its own wings. Its first attempt is a failure, it's crushed with the landing...

After a training course and other examinations, it is finally authorized to only fly. The career of the ace of the aces of 14-18 can finally start. A legend has just started.

I advise you to read the continuation on the following Web site " The last flight of Red Baron, it's a very documented site, and where one is posed many questions about the tragic death of the Baron Rouge, at the time of an ambush, April 21, 1918.

A quotation of Manfred von Richthofen "While leaving for the war, it had written to her mother: "If we should not any more see us, receive here my most cordial thanks for all that you did for me. Your son recognizing and obeying "

PP work :

I had to make a handling with PSP to rout with the magnetic lasso this splendid plane to remove the external elements, people especially who pressed themselves to see this plane. No possibilities considering the POV that I wanted to make of him escape upwards from the idlers.

I gave it on a black bottom while doing one to copy then one to stick on new copy, added the entourage on another copy and an effect "Shade 3d" for him gives a mysterious air and the impression of the air blast on its fuselage.

On the other hand, I reserve a small surprise in the workshops to you

Hi Corinne,
At first sight I didn't realise it was a model of the Fokker Dr.1 Tri-wing plane of my late friend Manfred von Richthofen aka as the Red Baron (Now you can figure out why my nickname is Green Baron :-)
Well, fine PP-work you did, excellent how you managed to show the create solely without any disurbing items like curious people. Fine frame work too and the pictures in the WS are very good either!

Bonjour Corinne,
