[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
Two poppies on a roundabout of circulation. They make me think of two young grooms, it, with the white on its dress of married and him, looking at it, with such a passion that it's red of desire (yes, I have imagination) I found the association of these two poppies, very sensual. But makes some, it's the red color which is synonymous for me with passion.

The symbolic of the red:

The red is ambivalent in the occidental symbolic, the love, passion, blood, the erotism, the generation, rejuvenation (the phoenix), welcoming heat, the appetite, the life, the force vital, the festival, the spectacle (decoration of the theatres and the operas red and gilded), the luxury, the richness, the associated emotions (timidity, pleasure, desire), the divine love. For example in the title of the novel of Stendhal, "the Red and the Black".

Devil (in old Egypt Seth, the destructor, is in red), the lewdness (color of the closed houses, the prostitutes), temptation, fire, the destruction, death (versed blood), heat cuisante, associated emotions ("red of anger", "to see red", selfishness, hatred, infernal love).

By extension, the red it's also:

the power, capacity, sovereignty (emperor of Rome, cardinals, dresses of magistrates), aristocracy (whereas it is the yellow in the Asian cultures), the nobility. In this case, the red can go to crimson.
In the crowned texts of the Christians, Egyptians, Hebrews and Arabs, the color always associated fire and the divine love, and which symbolizes the divinity and the cult.
At the psychological level, the color which represents the joy in life, optimism, strength, combative instinct and its aggressive tendencies, the sexual instinct, the desire in love, passion, the need for conquest...

Origin of this symbolic:

It resides principally in the fact that the red is the real color of blood, the muscles, the mouth, the lips, the blood poured by the enemy, the heart (at the same time muscle and blood pump), as well as fire which crackled, embers.

Lastly, it's a color which attracts the eye because it's not very present in nature and its rarity makes a color of exception of it. From an optical point of view, it is also the color which excites more the cone of the human eye.

It thus appears that the red color has an exciting effect, whether it's due to its symbolic system or its visibility.


Association for me of the red color with simple words (you can put yours in your comments) lipstick, to kiss, heart, shoe, apples, strawberries, ladybird, pepper, Ferrari, roses red, wine, firemen, Santa Claus, and of course poppy. With you to play.

Wow ! C'est tout rouge :o) On dirait que la mariée est rapportée, je me trompe ? C'est comme d'habitude très joliment présenté et agrémenté d'une excellente note. Le rouge pour moi, ce serait la passion, l'émotion (le rouge qui monte aux joues), le sang, le vin ... oops quelle nouille, non, non, pas le vin :o)
