Hi Hans,
Wow, that's some serious traveling. Your butterfly picture is great. I love the detail and the blue coloring in the wings. The composition is very good and the dark BG really isolotes the butterfly. Very nice work.

Hi Hansie, this is a Blue Morpho Butterfly and it's a great comp here, could be better on the sharp side. The color is blown out a little on the left wing, maybe if you had not cropped so close, it may have worked better! Is your plane blue? Bring your hopper to Texas when you come...we'll zoom about the state!

Hello Hans, j'aime beaucoup cette photo, avec seulement deux éléments, soit le papillon et les feuilles. Avec cette arrière plan, il n'y a rien d'autre pour nous distraire du sujet principal.
Je me suis permis un atelier,naturellement sans prétention.

Hi Hans, this is the Blue Morpho / Morpho peleides. It shows these beautiful blue colours and patterns on the top side of the wings, yet the underside is dark brown. It doesn't often show the blue uppersides - so you were lucky here.

I feel your photo is a bit OOF and could be a lot sharper though. And reading the comments above me I see not many agree with me - but sorry, this is as I see it. Check out some other butterflies posted here and see if you agree with me.

I know it isn't easy taking photos in a hot butterfly house.

Not an expert nor will I ever be, but I'll give you my two cents worth.
I like the composition but would have preferred to see the whole butterfly being sharp rather than the leaves.
Perhaps this is the look you wanted and if so then its good.
