Carrelet on the river "Charente"
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French] |
This fishing is very played on the coasts of Charente-Maritime and in the estuaries of Charente and Gironde. It is also played on the abrupt coasts of Vendée and up to the mouth of the Loire but in these regions this tradition with tendency to become blurred.
the "carrelet" is a square net of a some square metres area tightened on a shell glides and taken down horizontally by means of a windlass since a pontoon which advances in sea and on that is in general constructed a shelter, or even a small accommodation.
After some minutes of wait, for clearing up of the confusion caused by descent, the net went back up rather fast, imprisoning in principle the fish which were between him and the surface. |
