[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
Hollyhocks are popular garden ornamental plants, cultivars selected, particularly from A. rosea. The flowers have been selected for variations in colour, with dark purple, red and white-flowered plants available in addition to the colours found in wild plants.
Hollyhocks are very drought resistant, and do well in full sun locations that might be too hot or dry for other plants. They produce large, flat coin-shaped seeds (1/2" diameter) that seem to grow easily wherever they drop. While an individual plant might only live a handful of years, by that time chances are good it will leave plenty of descendants. They have very long taproots which make transplanting difficult.

Here, they are neither in a garden or along the wall as they are often merely on the roadside in my village, along a field which allowed me to have the blue sky background.

Wow! Superb sharp and crisp picture, wonderfull POV capturing this colourful flowers. The composition is spot on! Presentation too, the white frame fits well here. The sky full fluffy clouds as backdrop works well.

Les roses trémières ! Toute mon enfance dans le jardin de ma grand-mère ... elles étaient gigantesques à mes yeux ... c'était un plaisir de naviguer entre ces 'mâts fleuris' :o)

Hi Corinne,

These flowers we call "stokrozen" - roses growing on a stick - and are mostly seen growing just against the front of ages old farms and town/houses - they really have a charming feel and abundance of colours.
Love the way you have presented them against the wonderful sky. Must be great to see them on the roadside in the wild.

A superb combination of the sky and flowers, Corinne. I love the composition here with the beautiful colours and detail you have shown. It is wonderful to see these hardy plants, against the sky and not a house or wall. This is a very simply and lovely image, Well done.

Superbe! Ces roses trémières ont tellement bien traversé les époques et les modes! Pas étonnant qu'elles évoquent de si beaux souvenirs d'enfance.
Ton point de vue très bas les montrent fièrement dressées contre ce beau ciel bleu. Excellente capture de la lumière!

Bonjour Coinne
Il est bien joli ton bouquet de roses trémières (primeroses) se détachant sur le bleu du ciel. Il y a encore de nombreux boutons à éclore, la saison n'est pas terminée. Les couleurs sont belles et tendres. Cette fleur a un petit côé champêtre que j'adore.Le détail des fleurs de la tige de gauche est superbe.
