Indeed - the French word Finistère (the region we visited in Bretagne) is derived from the Latin "Finis terrae": the end of the world.

This one is for Kat who posted some sunset pictures from the Atlantic too. Well Kat, this is the other side of the ocean ;o).

As you will have guessed already, the black spot under the dark cloud is a kite.

Tech talk

Straightened the picture slightly.

Resized for TL in one step.

No sharpening, no tampering with colours, levels or saturation. This is the picture as it came out of the camera ;o).

A beautiful sunset with gorgeous colours, Frank! The lonely bird does add to the scene. The sun, the coast, the sea and the dark colours are just beautiful. Well done!

I love the color Frank, and good work on the placement of the sun.

If a kyte is a parachute pulled by a boat... my guess was effectively right! :o)
Wonderful sky! Kat will be shurely happy of it! Nice scene! The sun have a natural blur i like!

See, you have liked a lot your time in my cuntry and even took time for a sunset;
Beautifull colors and very good composition;
I like it

Superb work Frank, one of the most lovely sunsets I have seen! The moment was captured in a masterful way, bravo!

Summer sunsets are always pleasant to see, and this one is no exception. The colours are great, and the kite in the sky adds interest.

Nice one Frank, the colours are so wonderfully golden and peaceful. The mood feels so good here at the end of the world. The kite makes it even more interesting too. You've done a good job here. Thank you.

And it came out beautiful Frank.
Lovely colours, tones and lovely place to be

Bonjour Frank,
Merveilleux coucher de soleil bien positionné dans ta photo avec de très beaux reflets. Les nuages à droite forme une sorte de balance à l'image. Bonne prise de vue...

Hi Frank....Your side of the Atlantic looks just like my side!!!! This was so thoughtful fo you to do. Now I have both sides of the ocean, and I thank you so very much for that. I shall place the photo of mine that you linked yours to beside each other in a frame....Making our world smaller.....and place our convertible ride just below it! Thanks so much, Frank. You have made my day with your thoughtfulness.......:O)

Good morning Frank!
Super composition, fantastic colors and very good light. Bravo. Thanks for sharing

Hi Franck, your colours are gorgeous, no glare, no vignetting, very well done.

The sun in the left side of the composition, the bird flying by, and the nice cloud. Also, the horizon on the 2/3 of the photo.

Technically perfect and overall very appealing :)

Cheers, Yan

Ah que voilà un bien beau coucher de soleil, j'adore les couchers de soleil, il ne sont jamais tout à fait semblables mais finalement ils se ressemblent un peu tous. Jaime bien le cadrage.

Very nice indeed Frank.

I love the title, very original and thoughtful. Sunsets... hmmm we see them all the time, yet everytime we see them we let out a little "aaah" or a rise and fall of the chest. Nature truly out-does itself.

Anyways, this certainly made me release a little sigh of joy. :P Just simple, and pretty... like all sunsets should be!

Biance.
