Reflections of Disdain

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Musée Rodin stands acros the street from the Invalides and is the first place we must visit on our first full day in Paris. It is a fantastic place, with rooms of wonderful artwork, the fragile ones in reflective lucite boxes, and mirrors reflecting more images, till it is hard to tell what is real and what is reflection. It's a photographer's paradise. This haughty lady in terra cotta by Rodin is one of my favorites. I have put a posterized version of this photo in as a Workshop. Please look and tell me which you prefer.
ISO 400, focal length 39.0 mm. Cropped to remove distrations, some reflections toned down (removed myself from the photo), and framed |

Hi Lois. Very interesting juxtapositioning of the two "women." I do like the posterized version - the colors are nicer and the primary shapes pop more, in my opinion. But, your original is good too - although I'm not too wild about the yellow corner on the top left.
Nice capture here! You lucked out with the woman walking by! :)))

The main subject is very good. I'd never seen this one before and it IS an unusual 'bust'. Haughtiness, or what?
As always, I am looking for a sharper rendering and it seems that this could do with a major tweak (if you are not on an LCD screen right now!)
The composition in the original is quite cool, with the diagonal leading the eye down through the image and to the passer-by ... a nice inclusion. It's the yellow smudgy area top left that is a distraction. PP or not to PP.
The wS is, for me, a little overdone? Too heavy with the poster brush, I think.
Sharper, leb! I'll go away now and check out your wheel/s.
lois,
nice filter effects here and great DOF.u achieved good color tones and the sculpture is quite impressive.
regards
The original for me Lois I am not a great fan of PP work. Very similar to the last photo of your I commented on. I was actually drawn to the person outside the window than the yellow in the corner. Lovely effect created once again with the 'washed' look. Well framed, captioned and presented. TFS

PS Many thanks for your comment on Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse
Personally I prefer the original than posterized version. A lovely picture. Thanks for sharing.
