[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A lot of the very small villages in the less known regions of France are full of houses that have been standing empty a long time. One positive thing that has happened in recent years is that a lot of foreigners (English, German, Dutch...) are beginning to buy the old stonehouses and renovate them to use as summer residences.
This house was too far gone even for the keenest hobby builder. I was in the street looking in - and right behind the window began the bush. The other walls were gone and nature had moved all the way back to within a few feet of the main street of this twenty house village (of which ten were now again inhabited).
I cropped for composition - that's all.

Nice picture & good observation, the texture of the wall is sharp, but I think you should have avoided the upper window as it is only partly visible...
It's a bit funny that the name of the village is "Maisons" which means "Houses" don't you think?

Very nice texture of old stone work and wood, I agree with Viviane that it would have been better to crop under the top window it is distracting to the main subject. It is interesting to see the trees on the "inside" of what would have been the house. Well don.

Great perspective and very unusual angle her Per! I find your comment very interesting regarding the sale of properties to foreigners - the same thing is happening in South Africa, to the point where property is now out of reach for most of the local people relative to cost! Well done & thanks for sharing!

Very well spotted and captured, this "handy man offer" (håndværker tilbud - som der plejer at stå ;-)

I would say the quality of this house must be good somehow since it can stand this (mis)treatment.

Thanks for sharing Per - I actually spotted a Danish house in the same condition - but its too late now - the bulldozer has been there.

Two views in one - very creative thinking. Good textures on the stone work and the wooden parts. Nicely seen.
