As the ship drops anchor and the passengers wait for the tenders to be lowered, I noticed this woman using her binocular surveying the group of three islands, one of which is the Devils Island. A day before, we were infomed through the ship's newsletter that the island has rough gravel roads and trail, the temperature may hit 90F and humid, there are lots of forested areas and prepare to be sweating throughout our walk. This woman who was with me in the tender, does not look like she is going for a hike. She has on a gold wrist watch, a gold bracelet, diamond ring, diamond earrings, and embroidered cotton dress. She is doing it all in style.
I took this picture while directly facing the morning sun, which is still low on the horizon. I thought it will be so over exposed I will not have a record of this bejewelled lady. But the digital camera came through.
