The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, four-engined airliner manufactured by EADS (Airbus S.A.S.). It is the largest passenger airliner in the world. It first flew on 27 April 2005 from Toulouse, France. After lengthy delays, commercial flights are scheduled to begin in late 2007. During much of its development phase, the aircraft was known as the Airbus A3XX. The nickname Superjumbo has become associated with the A380.

The A380's upper deck extends along the entire length of the fuselage. This allows for a cabin with 50% more floor space than the next largest airliner, the Boeing 747-400, and provides seating for 525 people in standard three-class configuration or up to 853 people in full economy class configuration. Two models of the A380 are available for sale. A380-800, the passenger model, is the largest passenger airliner in the world, superseding the Boeing 747. The A380-800F, the freighter model, is designed as one of the largest freight aircraft, with a listed payload capacity exceeded only by the Antonov An-225. A380-800 has a maximum range of 15,000 km (8,000 nmi, sufficient to fly from Chicago to Sydney nonstop), and a cruising speed of Mach 0.85 (about 900 km/h or 560 mph at cruise altitude).

Great POV. Like hamperium says... it makes the plane look impressive. Nice to see the man next to the plane so you can compare. Must have been a nice experience to it from where you were standing.

Excellent POV giving a real sense of the massive scale of this aircraft.
Amazing wing-shape, that curve up from the fuselage is very striking.
What a monster - great metering and sharpness and goo use of the wide angle view.

Hi Alex, wonderful shot of the bird! I hear there's one in development, though, which will also use helium and will be about the size of a football field inside. TFS.

Hello Alex,
Good point of view ands dynamic framing!
The image gives a good impression of this huge aircraft, and I wonder if I shall interpret the dark clouds as symbolic..?
Nice work!

Hi Alex,
I understand that this is a huge plane... so probably that's why it won't fit in just one picture eh??
I really love your POV here and the sky looks real good.

Cheers,
Anneke

Hi Alex,

Browsing around your gallery, this is the pic that drew me the most. Perhaps because I'm into airplane photography and I have developed an eye for good pics, I dare say :)

What's interesting in this shot is, besides the nice POV (18mm, way to go!), the attractive overcast. Had it been a clear blue sky, the photo would have been interesting but not as dramatic, methinks!

Hi Alex

A nice angle to shoot this from! Very majestic look that you have given it I must say! All I could find missing was the totality, although its understandable that shooting the whole of it would have brought in other challenges like the focus and goemetrical balance at the point where you were standing but actually the aircraft looks as if vanishing from the front and its tail out of frame, a little bit of moving to the right would have given us the front look at least, apart from that a little bit of contrast is needed as the sky is dark enough to supress the festive mood this moment in the shot has.
Still the beast is a beauty over here no doubt and your photo makes us realise it all the more so congrats and thanks for sharing :D
Cheers!

Hello,
Magnificent shot!
I have similar shot of that gigant taken this year :)
Magnificent POV.
