Hello :o)
This photo was taken in the terrace of a bar on the quay Henri IV (the Pirate) during the arrival of the Tour de France à la Voile 2007 which every year, made stage in Dieppe. It is a so sweet atmosphere that it is necessary to live, a true ant-hill of faces engraved by the sun and the wind, marine clothes in lively colors, and all the sailboats were aligned in the harbour. It's also the occasion to participate in regatta, to discover the history of navigation thanks to the numerous exhibitions realized outdoors.
On this not retouched photo, I have simply replace the center of the table by the photo of a device of navigation (no more in service) which served for mastering the speed of the boat (you will find it in the workshop :o)

History ...

Pirate, flibustier, corsaire ...

Edward Teach, alias Barbe noire, Khayr ad-Din Barberousse or still Samuel Bellamy ....

A pirate is a person who practises the piracy.
The piracy is practical, so old as the navigation, which has for object the attack of a boat with the aim of stealing its load, and sometimes the whole boat. However, the pirates limited themselves not only to the other boats but also sometimes attacked(affected) coastal towns. The word "pirates" is connected with the offshore actions(shares) without the approval of a sovereign nation, contrary with the privateers, the captains of boat deprived Working for a nation or for an important person in the company(society). The maritime piracy knew its highlight during XVIIIth century then disappeared little by little, due to the power increasing nations on all the regions of the world. Many anarchists were inspired by the philosophy of the pirates which consisted in exiling itself of any nation to lead a more free life.

ben fatto!
ciao
Marco

Helo Maryline
I like this image very much because of the wonderful colors of the chairs, the frame you've used, the well placed table in the frame and just one chair with the name while all others are cut of. Very well seen and excecuted except for the disturbing pole of the sunshade behind the chair top middle.
Would have even been nicer with choice for a bit of an other point of view without that pole in the frame.
Very nice image anyway.
Thanks for sharing.
Kindest regards, Harry

Hi Maryline: Another whimsical photo with lively red colour. It takes my eyes around the red chairs a few times and plants it on the ships speed dial on the table. nice balance to the composition as well as the POV... thanks for showing ...Roman;0)

Bonjour,

Arr! Arr! HHaarr!

coucou poulette
excellente composition, cadrage parfait
Mais il manque le pirate ?
bien ta note
bisous

jojo
