I decided to leave the metro stations for a while and go back to the surface of Paris and ...

Yesterday night I was invited for a dinner in a very special place by a very special person.

As for the very special person, she will recognise herself ...

As for the very special place, it is called "Café Marly" and is located near the I.M. Pei’s famous glass "Pyramide du Louvre", in the Richelieu wing of the Louvre Palace. The terrace is on the Cour Napoléon. Inside of the café, glass walls separate the salon from sculpture and works of art in the Louvre itself.

You may order the most expensive club sandwich in Paris, tuna sashimi, or a well-made plat du jour, served in magnificent surroundings.

What a lucky girl you are... La dolce vita!
It's a bit grainy, but definitely showing a wonderful mood. Good moments are never too much, not even for photos.
Ana

what a nice sight!!!
quiet and surreal...
well done
Paolo

Mmm, will have to go to a restaurant next... ;o).
Nice moody shot, Sylvie. I would have cropped tighter from the left though, the reflection in the red is a bit disturbing for me, and it detracts attention from the table and... the pyramid, of course. I love the grain in the seats, but maybe some neatimage on the wall would be nice too. Think I'll try a WS to show what I mean.
So, we take your word for the exquisite company, the tasty food - and we can see for ourselves that the surroundings were alright too. I hope you had a lovely evening. TFS.

Belle composition!

Nice place, terrible food ;-) At least, it was really bad when I was there a year ago. But the I always become picky when I have to pay that much.

Your picture succed in render well the very moody atmosphere of this restaurant. The light reflection on the red painted wall is a bit distracting.

I love the mood of this shot, Sylvie, specially the grain that I think enhace the intimate atmosphere of the composition.
And sounds like it was a very special night for you..

It's a scene waiting for drama to unfold. I think this photo is so evocative because of what is is not present . . . there is a tension in the image. and it is so romantic. I hope you had a fine evening there Sylvie.

Claude

One of the most gorgious place in paris, isn'it? And a nice picture...again...
And now, I know what pleases me uppermost : the lights int the palace windows, surrounding both sides of the pyramid, so blue, which seem reflect on the material of the seats.

Bonjour Sylvie,
