[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A Citroen Light Fifteen, much seen in the original Maigret TV series, photographed 24 years ago somewhere in the Dordogne.

This was another attempt at copying an old Agfacolor slide.

This time I dispensed with the main tube of the AICO video camera slide copier, which contains a close up conversion lens, and just used the slide carrier and the opal diffuser in front of the camera lens.

I set my digital camera to super macro, at the widest angle lens setting, then photographed the slide directly from about 1-2cms distance using indirect sunlight.

Hello, Peter,

Great picture of a "Traction Avant" Citroen but I don't think the slide-copying technique you have used in this case, albeit ingenious, has produced results as good as your previous methods. It's not quite so sharp. I noticed that also with your most recent posting on TE. I'm not really familiar with the AICO copier - I have heard of others but have no experience of them.

Apparently, the double ^ of the Citroen badge represents the use of herringbone-cut gears of which Citroen was a pioneer: I think that was in the days before helical gears eventually superceded the straight-cut variety. Just a bit of interesting but useless information.

Kind Regards,

John.
