This picture is in some way a sequel to my previous post. After having crossed a lonely forest, we finally reached a village. Absolute silence. No human being to be seen. But still we felt a “presence”. Big brother watching us? Looking up to the attic of a barn, we finally understood our strange feeling. No big brother, but two sisters (not really big by the way ;-)). They looked down at us in their typical, mysterious way…

En quelque sorte, cette image constitue la suite de ma photo précédente. Après avoir traversé une vaste forêt sans rencontrer personne, nous atteignîmes un village. Un village plongé dans le silence complet. Comme si les hommes l’avaient abandonné. Et pourtant, il y avait comme une présence. “Big brother watching us?”. C’est en levant la tête que nous découvrions, dans la baie de fenêtre d’une grange, la cause de notre malaise. Point de “big brother”, mais deux soeurs. Et pas vraiment “big” ;-). Elles nous toisaient de ce regard typique, empreint de mystère.

In zekere zin vormt deze foto het vervolg op mijn voorgaande post. Nadat we een eenzaam bos waren doorgewandeld, kwam eindelijk een dorp in zicht. Absolute stilte. Alsof er geen levende ziel meer woonde. Nochtans voelden we een “aanwezigheid”. “Big brother watching us?” Pas toen we opkeken, ontdekten we de oorzaak van dat vreemde gevoel. Geen “big brother”. Wel twee zussen. Niet echt “big” overigens ;-). Ze keken op ons neer met hun typische, mysterieuze blik.

this is absolutely great picture Erik! and not only because i like huge black background ;o) in some way it is so ideal posed- if you havent cropped, i am realy impressed! because it is very much pro photo for me! BUT after sweeting that little bit ;o) i need to say that on the right side of the picture ( stones) there is a little bit overexposure- i have tried to get rid of it, but o.exp. doesnt realy disapeared, and cats are little bit darker ( on your photo they are look "cleaner" and softer) but as i alredy did my workshop i will post it.

anyway- just great shot!

Goeie compositie, contrast, scherpte (!), kleuren en PoV.
Speciaal vind ik ook dat de achtergrond van de twee zussen écht zwart is ( op mijn monitor ).

Heb je nog ideetjes om een triller te schrijven ... de inleiding heb je al ;-)

Hello Erik,

Gelet u een eche TL fan ben zal ik u hier bezoeken, en als niet bewerkte foto, en als dieren liefhebber koost ik als eerst voor deze foto.
Ik vind ten eerste zeer leuk, ten tweede zeer geslaagd, de donkere achtergrond laat de silhouetten zeer goed zien, de kat op de rechterkant is de mooiste en ook scherpst genomen, de snorrebaarden zijn zo mooi.

Hi Erik,
Great cat portrait and well composed. I do agree with other comments about the overexposure of the stones and a bit on the cat on the right, but I didn't find it seriously disasterous:) I wonder what those two cats were thinking? (Smaller cat on the right: "Hmmm...look what's coming down the road...what are they?" Older and wiser cat on the left: "Oh, darn, those are humans...I thought we'd gotten rid of all of them last year so we could have all the mice we wanted.")

Hoi Erik,

Deze foto spreekt me erg aan door het prachtige katje rechts en de licht/ donker contrasten. De compositie vind ik ook erg goed gekozen. Ik vind alleen de 2e kat wat afleiden van de mooie scherpe focus op het grijze katje.
Ik zag dat je een aantal workshops had dus ik heb mijn suggestie om de foto nog wat krachtiger te maken toegevoegd. (Alhoewel dan je titel niet meer zou kloppen :-))
