[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We went on holiday to France on september 16th and came back on september 24th. We stayed at Montigny en Morvan. This picture I took at the beautiful Lac de Panneciere, wich was only a ten minute walk from the little house where we stayed at. The weather was very nice and the view even nicer.

Here's some information about the lake and it's dam wich I found on the internet:

The lake of Pannecière is the largest lake of the Parc de Morvan. With its maximum length of 7,5 km it extends to the border of four villages: Chaumard, Corancy, Montigny-en-Morvan and Ouroux-en-Morvan.

Nestled in the Yonne valley, at the foot of small mountains, just a few kilometres from Château-Chinon, it's a very nice area for a multitude of activities in the fresh, clean, forest air. The lake is well appreciated by fishermen for its large population of fish. Every season has its own charms, which attract the eye of many photographer. Relaxation and change of scenery guaranteed!

After de big floods of the Seine river, like the one that struck Paris in 1910, it was decided to create dams in other to be able to regulate the water level of the Seine and its tributaries. The construction on the barrage of Pannecière was started in 1939, and after being interrupted twice due to the 2nd World War it was finished in 1949.

The dam is built in the Yonne valley, where the granite provides the lake its watertight foundation. The dam is of the type: "à voûtes multiples et contreforts " (multiple vaults and buttresses), it has 13 vaults, is 49m high and has a length of 352m.

A hydro electric plant, exploited by the E.D.F. (a French energy provider), was put into use in 1950. Four departments (Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne) are grouped in a public institute called " Les Grands Lacs de Seine " which is responsible for the dam.

I was wondering, how in the world she could take a picture of a place called “Lac...”...in French and then I see that it was taken in France :) This is a nice perspective with beautiful composition and exposure. Tones of colors are natural and your notes interesting. It seems that you have some dust spots on your captor. I see one in the water right ;) See you!

Het lijkt erop dat jullie een heerlijke vakantie daar gehad hebben - met mooi weer.
Meren, stuwmeren en rivieren zijn altijd een heel dankbaar onderwerp om te fotograferen en om gewoon lekker naar te kijken.
Lekker "ruime" foto met fantastische lucht erboven.

A pleasant late summer landscape has been captured!
Manmade lakes can be beautiful, but in some periods the water level may be low...
I like the variation with fields and trees, and the wonderful sky with great clouds!
