To ameliorate its ordinary food made grass, watery plants and insects especially in winter, the swans take advantage of the people who come to nourish bread, the ducks which are in great number in the marsh poitevin, pavaner and to have its share of bread.

You knew that...:
The swan isn't a timid bird. When the female is in period of reproduction, it becomes very aggressive.
The swan has more than 25 000 feathers. The swan remains in couple all its life.
Species classified in France in the list of the protected species. The tuberculé swan mainly threatened by the contamination due to lead present at the bottom of the lakes and the ponds. But for the moment its populations are stable, and it reproduces very well in captivity or semi captivity.

Unfortunately, it would seem to form part of the wild species having the greatest sensitivity to stock H5N1 of the virus responsible for the aviary influenza.

Lost detail in the white but good composition and the colour of the beak make it nice. Also will look good if you crop it tighter or a little more on top then that beak will be in the third position

Nice crop of this swan. Wonderful sharpness on the water droplets and great colour. Very good of you to show the original photo (good by itself also) so that the crop can be judged. Framing is indeed perfect.

Une bien belle tête de cygne avec ses contrastes de couleurs bien marqués.Le cadrage bien serré permet d'apprécier sa bouille angélique. Les détails de la tête et les gouttelettes sont très nets. Une bien belle photo.

A wonderful crop !!
It isolates the swan beautiful from his background.
The bright orange beak gives a strong accent and the drops gives the nice finishing touch.

Missed this image my dear, a great picture of this (indeed) noble swan. When spring comes I will follow and picture the swans in the waters around my appartment in haarlem again. This one is very whel "shot" the bright white body is a tad OE but not disturbing at all in my opinion. A great royal image mon amie!
