My contribution to this Friday's theme from Helen is an image of a piece of the astounding architecture from the Middle Ages. Buoux, in the South of France, was once an immense fortress. Today its ruins still give a most impressive testimony of its original size and strength, such as this arch from one of its fortification walls or ramparts.

Bonsoir Cordelia,
Un bien bel ouvrage de pierre . Il y en du travail pour faire une arche comme celle là sans mortier . Ton angle de prise de vue permet de l'apprécier encore plus . Couleurs justes et bon contraste .
Daniel

Hello Cordelia,
Well captured theme of this entrance with very well laid rock. I like the view leading to the lush green trees and stunning blue sky.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Fine composition and sense of the past. You have captured the strength and the texture of the rocks very well. The blue of the background gives it a good backdrop.

Hi Cordelia. A lovely keystoned bridge. A shape and technique developed by the Romans and still copied and used today. Really good composition - we don't see many shots from a low perspective - and the colours show the dry, arid nature of the surroundings. Lovely work. Regards, Paul.

Lovely colour Cordelia and no obvious OE. Well composed and lovely detail on this ancient structure. TFS,
David

Thanks on "F/T ROCK OR ROCKS"

I recall a beautiful, wild-grown hilltop on a gorgeous spring day. Your photograph has captured it. The colours of the sky, the stone and the trees in this image reflect the sad but stunning aridity of the place.
