[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Abd Al Malik, the French rap singer was invited at the 20th anniversary of the foundation of SFR, the mobile telephony operator, on the 22th of January in Paris. He sang "Gibraltar", one of his most famous songs and "Soldat de plomb" with those words : "Pour un monde meilleur, vive la France arc-en-ciel, unie et débarrassée de toutes ses peurs".

Il cherche comme un chien sans collier le foyer qu'il n'a en fait jamais eu, et se dit que p't-être, bientôt, il ne cherchera plus.
Et ça rit autour de lui, et ça pleure au fond de lui.
Faut rien dire et tout est dit, et soudain … soudain il s'fait derviche tourneur,
Il danse sur le bar, il danse, il n'a plus peur, enfin il hurle comme un fakir, de la vie devient disciple.
Sur le détroit de Gibraltar y'a un jeune noir qui prend vie, qui chante, dit enfin « je t'aime » à cette vie.
Puis les autres le sentent, le suivent, ils veulent être or puisqu'ils sont cuivre.

Wow, a great post! I like the double image. You usually mixed real with still, this time both were moving figures that you froze at the same second, in the same pose.
Thanks for quoting the lyrics, btw. I also looked up ones for Soldat de plomb. I must say I liked both. Though it's the first time I'm hearing his name, I think from now on I'll recognize him :)
Seems like SFR really likes big parties a lot!

Je ne connaissais pas ce chanteur, il faut dire que je ne suis pas un grand fan du genre mais les paroles m'ont incité à cliquer sur les liens youtube et c'est bien sympa, c'est du slam non?

Gracias a mis compañeras francesas del proyecto de este semestre, conozco y he podido escuchar a Abd Al Malik.
Gibraltar me trae recuerdos de mi tierra con el taconeo y las palmas del principio y el bucle de la canción de Nina Simone me devuelve a los recuerdos cercanos de Nina (¡Ay Nina!) y de Inland Empire ;)
Buena toma, con esa particular forma de ver el mundo que tienes, el encuadre con las dos barras oscuras parece parte de una escena de pélicula. Bien, bien.

Beautiful shot with nice composition...
Very nice work...

Very imposant capture. Expression in his eyes is unique, ful of emotions. A "little Malik" distrackt a little bit, but all in all, outstanding photo.
